Verdeja, De Armas & Trujillo, LLP would like to proudly present its new partner, Monique Bustamante. 

Monique is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida. She has a bachelor’s of accounting from Florida International University and a master’s in accounting from Nova Southeastern University. 

Verdeja, De Armas & Trujillo, LLP, provides professional services to more than 150 non- profit organizations throughout Florida, over 100 schools in Florida, and more than 1,500 national and international organizations. The firm is comprised of seven partners and more than 40 employees, with offices in Coral Gables and Weston. 

Monique has over 10 years’ experience in accounting, eight of them with the firm, including multiple years as our firms Audit Director. In 2016, Mrs. Bustamante was promoted to Audit Director. As the Audit Director, Mrs. Bustamante led a staff of fifteen auditors. In leading her staff of auditors, she was responsible for overseeing and inspiring their work. In addition, she was responsible for the Firm’s System of Quality Control. She was exceptional in her duties as Director and a role model to the audit staff. She was previously employed by Ocariz, Gitlin, & Zomerfeld, LLP (currently Prager Metis CPAs, Coral Gables). 

Monique is a wife and proud mother of two. She is a mentor and great example to all young women as to personal and professional balance. 

Monique is active in the community as a member of the United Way of Miami-Dade Audit Committee. She has also served on the board of the Cuban American CPA Association. In addition, she has also been nominated as an emerging leader at the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants “Women to Watch Awards”. 

Monique’s advice to anyone looking to be up and coming, and in the spotlight is to “Be fully present wherever you are”.
