A year ago, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law. Today, more than two dozen states are participating in lawsuits to overturn the Act, with Florida and Virginia succeeding. Keeping up with all of the changes and deadlines is challenging.
The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants is offering a two-day conference focusing on the health-care act: where it’s going, what programs have been kept, cut or modified, and when implementation takes place.
Coming up on April 27-28, at The Peabody Orlando, the conference is geared to provide continuing professional education to CPAs who work for hospitals, clinics, physicians, long-term-care facilities, as well as for public practitioners who work with CPAs in industry.
“Health care professionals and CPAs who want the latest information about health care reform will find it at this conference,” said Jeff Goolsby, chair of the FICPA Health Care Conference Committee and Principal at Moore Stephens Lovelace, P.A., in Clearwater.
The conference features national experts, including two keynote address speakers, who will talk about the constant state of change of and offer insights about surviving and prospering in the U.S. health care industry. Keynote speakers are Ralph Lawson, of Coral Gables, executive vice president and CEO for Baptist Health of South Florida, and Richard L. Clark, of Westchester, IL, president and CEO of Healthcare Financial Management Association.
The FICPA expects over 270 attendees at this year’s conference. For more information or to register, visit http://old.ficpa.org/hcc or call (800) 342-3197.
