Roshan "Shan" Shikarpuri of Palm Harbor received the Florida Institute of CPAs' Outstanding CPA in Public Service Award.

"Shan has an affinity for all people," said Kathryn B. Anderson, CAE, FICPA CEO-Executive Director. "He is a true leader, philanthropist and visionary who has been acknowledged by many for his contributions. He continues to create a legacy for himself as a humanitarian and as a professional CPA."

Despite the demands of managing his own accounting practice, Shikarpuri gives freely to others. Early in his career, he served as a frequent civic club speaker. The Rotary Club has awarded him the Paul Harris Fellow for his significant contributions for the club. He also has served as president of the Rotary.

His many professional and community activities include serving as FICPA Suncoast Chapter Board of Directors, honorary mayor of Palm Harbor, inaugural chair of the Palm Harbor Firefighters Pension Board, president of the Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council. Shikarpuri was awarded the FICPA Outstanding Committee Member in 1991-1992, and recognized as Palm Harbor Chamber's Small Business of the Year in 2008.

Shikarpuri, who fluently speaks eight languages, has also been recognized for his contributions to the Indo-American Association and the Federation of Indian Associations of Tampa Bay. He was the first CPA to be voted Palm Harbor Citizen of the Year.
